Parents of the abducted Chibok school girls on Tuesday said only six girls were sighted in Sambisa forest as against 57 indicated by media reports quoting one of the parents. The spokesperson of the parents, Ayuba Alamson, told reporters in Maiduguri that the young lady who escaped from the Boko Haram captivity claimed to have stayed with only six girls in the forest. Mr Alamson, who identified the lady as Jummai Abouku, said she escaped from the Boko Haram insurgents and was released recently by the military to her family after profiling and screening. According to him, “Jummai, a mother of six, was abducted together with her elder son by the insurgents at Askira Uba in 2014.” Mr Alamson explained that the escapee told the parents that she stayed with six of the girls in Sambisa forest, adding that she had also identified the girls and their parents. "The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday, 28 October 2018, deployed a detachment of Special Forces personnel to Kaduna in support of Internal Security operations in the State. The detachment will join other NAF personnel in Kaduna and other security agencies to ensure that the spate of senseless killings in some parts of the State is brought to a complete end and normalcy expeditiously restored." The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed a detachment of Special Forces personnel to Kaduna to support security operations in the state. Deployed on Sunday, the officers are expected to join other NAF personnel in Kaduna, and work alongside other security agencies in the state. A police officer who was said to be part of the police team that allegedly killed Anita Akapson in Abuja, is involved in the investigation into the homicide, Northern City News has learnt. Akapson, the daughter of a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, was shot dead in her Honda Accord car in Katampe area of Abuja on October 13 by four policemen including the female officer said to be involved in the ongoing investigation into the incident. Sources explained that the female cop was part of the investigating team, noting that her involvement in the probe into the case in which she is a suspect was unethical. The Senator representing Yobe-East, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has given a damning verdict on the performance of his party, the All Progressives Congress, over the last three years. Ibrahim who was a three-time governor of Yobe State said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC was in many ways not better than the Peoples Democratic Party it defeated in 2015.
