The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said  no army can have enough equipment  for  its operations. Buratai, who spoke on the Metele attacks  during the 2018 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Maiduguri on Wednesday, said the army had started to strategise for the  end of  the Boko Haram insurgency  in the North-East. The COAS  also revealed  plans for the 2019 general elections, saying Operation Safe Conduct would be conducted in the country by the army to ensure free and fair elections. The Nigeria Police Force this morning arraigned political activist, Deji Adeyanju, Daniel Abobama and Boma Williams at Karshi Magistrate Court, Federal Capital Territory for criminal offences of Joint Act, Criminal defamation, Disturbance of public peace, Threat to public security and safety and inciting public disturbance under the Penal Code Law. A statement from the police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, says the court ordered that they should be remanded in Keffi Prison in Nasarawa state until January 21st 2019. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a reduction in the cost of forms for final year secondary school and post-secondary school examinations. This was made known by the president’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad. According to Mr Ahmad, the cost of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms has been reduced from N5,000 to N3,500 while the cost of National Examination Council (NECO) forms was reduced from N11,350 to N9,850. The reduction takes effect from January 2019. JAMB has been making hundreds of millions of naira profit since its new leadership headed by Ishaq Oloyede assumed office; leading many Nigerians to demand a reduction in the cost of forms. Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, on Monday said his re-election in the 2019 elections was almost a done deal. The governor noted that what was important to him was doing the right thing. El-Rufai said this at the 2018 National Council on Finance and Economic Development conference taking place in Kaduna. “Being re-elected is not important. What is important is doing the right thing and posterity will judge us,” he said. The governor, however, added that from the look of things, his re-election bid was almost certain. Kaduna State is launching this campaign to address the unsatisfactory status of IYCF in the state and the increasing incidence of malnutrition-related infant mortality. Available data indicate that malnutrition accounts for more than 50% of under-five mortality in the state. Organized by Up North, a subsidiary label under Chocolate City Music and sponsored by ALAT, the tour covered two major venues, the University of Jos and Princess Sarah Hotel, Keffi, Nasarawa State. Wiith over 700 people in attendance on the 6th of November per venue, both lovcations were filled to the brim with fans that were really excited to see and meet with ClassiQ, other artistes whose performances added to the fun of the whole event were Lyrical Dr. Smith, Oskar Dash and O.J Wyte. In all, the tour was a success and had to be paused because of the strike action embarked on by ASUU, but the tour shall resume upon the strike getting called off. A former Chief of Army Administration, Major-General Garba Wahab (retired), has blamed the recent attack on a military base in Metele, a remote village near the border with the Niger Republic, on information leakage. President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday presided over a meeting of security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of the ongoing efforts to engage military and intelligence community towards addressing Boko Haram insurgency.
