Anyone who remembers Lil Wayne's insanely productive late-00s stretch won't be surprised that the rapper holds a record for most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a solo artist. At the same time, anyone following Drake 's last few years of dominance won't be surprised to hear that he's now tied his friend and collaborator's record. According to Billboard, Drake's appearance on Gucci Mane 's The Return Of East Atlanta Santa single "Both" marks his 132nd entry into the Hot 100 chart, with the song debuting at 41 this week. Lil Wayne's record is currently 132, so Drake's most recent placement puts them in stiff competition. Of course, the way the charts work is constantly changing, and the addition of streams to the way the Hot 100 is determined has worked in Drake's favor. We take a look at the nine rappers from Atlanta who stole the spotlight this year when it comes to rap features. From Chance the Rapper’s sermon heard around the world (“Ultralight Beams”) to the Nipsey Hussle sixteen that was being decoded by the Secret Service (“FDT”), 2016 was a particularly exciting year for guest spots in rap. Some of the best songs on the soundtrack to 2016’s dystopian election cycle were electric collaborations between the young and the old guard (“[Father Stretch My Hands] Pt. 2”), different regions (“Lockjaw”) and completely different styles (“I Got the Keys”). All around, this was a great year for hip-hop. However, and in spite of all the swagger jacking from the rest of the industry, it's Atlanta that still seems to be delivering the most heat on a consistent basis. Ab-Soul showcases a split worldview on his new cut, "Do What Thou Wilt." Soulo takes his self-titled advice, and lets his strengths shine instead of experimenting for variety’s sake. Ab-Soul’s Do What Thou Wilt announces the Black Lip Pastor’s return and oh, he mad. The last time MTV did their annual list of the Hottest MCs in the Game, the years was 2012, and Kendrick Lamar was crowned number one. For the first time since then, the list has returned, and the jury, a panel involving the likes of Nick Cannon and Joe Budden, has decided their order for this year. After much debate, Kanye West was ranked top shotta, mostly for his highly influential album TLOP and his incredibly innovative Saint Pablo Tour . Last time Kanye West got the number one spot was in 2008, after the Chicago rapper reached career a new career peak with the release of Graduation. Toronto superstar Drake came in at second, and Chance The Rapper rounded out the top 3. Among the accomplished rappers missing from this year's list are Childish Gambino , ScHoolboy Q, Kid Cudi, and most notably, Mr. Platinum With No Features, J. Cole. From social media to wax to videotape, 22 Savage's beef with 21 Savage has taken another step in a grave direction. The Baton Rouge rapper has dropped a music video for his 21 Savage diss track "Black Opps." In the video, 22 Savage swings his gun around with the squad, at times using it as a telephone, a signifier of the rapper's communication style. It seems that Birdman is getting his money one way or another. According to TMZ , the artist formerly known as Baby reportedly has plans to organize a Cash Money reunion tour with or without the presence of his estranged "son" Lil Wayne. The two have been engulfed in a much publicised legal battle, with the perceived majority of rap fans siding with Weezy F Baby, feeling that Birdman is unfairly robbing Wayne of his money, and the world of Wayne's masterpiece Tha Carter 5 . Instead of Wayne, Birdman would allegedly be bringing the likes of Juvenile, Turk , Mannie Fresh , and some up-and-comers on the reunion tour. That tour may be taking off as soon as February 2017. In other Weezy news, the rap superstar recently posted a somber yet uplifting video on Instagram giving his condolences to those close to the late Craig Sager.

When Lloyd revealed the track list for his new EP Tru, his collaboration with Lil Wayne titled ‘Holding’ stood out the most.
