Gist: Painting of the "DAMN." rapper wins big in Congressional Art Competition

Kendrick Lamar will now be immortalized in the US Capitol.
A painting of him by Tiona Cordova, a student at Pueblo Centennial High School, was chosen as the first place entry at this year's Congressional Art Competition in Colorado's 3rd District. Rep. Scott Tipton tweeted out the photo of this painting as the winner.
According to the US House of Representatives website, the nationwide high school art competition has students submit entries to their representative’s office, where panels of district artists choose the winning entries. All winners are recognized both in their district as well as at an annual awards ceremony held in Washington, DC. The winning works will be displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
